1st DAY:
Morning:

Departure at 8am. Passengers will be collected from hotel.
- Travel time: 4 hours. The bus journey takes us up to an altitude of 4100m, thereafter we descend to 2100m, which is the altitude of the start of the Apurimac River.
Lunch:
Afternoon:
- Safety briefing followed by practice in the river (only once the passengers have a good working knowledge of the commands and safety will we begin to run class II, III and IV rapids). We arrive at our first campsite at 16h00/17h00.
- Organize campsite.
- Dinner will be ready between 19h00/19h30.
- Briefing after dinner for the following day.
2nd DAY:
Morning:
- Wake up at 7am. Breakfast: 07h30.
- Enter river at 09h00/09h30.
- After a couple of class III rapids, we finally arrive at our first class IV rapid (Chute). Thereafter we have two portages (class IV rapids, non-runnable, hence the need to walk around them). Following that, we enter the Minefield and Purgatory rapids, class III, IV. We then arrive at the last portage for the day (Purgatory Portage). After this, we enter the Three Marias rapid, after which we'll stop for lunch.
Lunch:
- 13h00/13h30, after which we'll have a short nap.
Afternoon:
- We'll continue running the Three Marias II, the Z, ”Trinche” (beginning of the season: class V), and ”No-name” rapids (all class IV and V+). We'll arrive at our last camp-site at 16h00/17h00.
- Organize campsite.
- Rafting games/Entertainment.
- Dinner: 19h00/19h30.
- Briefing for the next day.
3 rd DAY:
Morning:
- Wake up at 7am. Breakfast: 07h30.
- Start running the river: 09h00/09h30. After a couple of rapids (class III+, IV), we arrive to a portage which we'll need to walk around.
- Thereafter one more class V rapid to run (Babalua) and then a class IV rapid (Last Laugh).
- After this, a series of class III, III+ rapids still to run.
Lunch:
- Barbecue: 13h00/14h00, at the Conoc Bridge. END OF TRIP.
Afternoon:
- Travel time back to Cusco: 2/3hrs. ETA: 17h00/18h00.
ENVIRONMENT
Garbage disposal: all inorganic matter is returned to Cusco, including all human waste (transported by means of cargo boat), Fauna: River otter, fox, deer, condor, variety of birds and if you're really lucky: Puma!
Climate: Warm and arid. Can get a little chilly in the evenings.

SAFETY
There will always be a Safety kayak and Cargo boat accompanying groups. All the rafting guides who work with us are certified by the Swiftwater rescue and IRIA (special courses only for Rafting Guides).
WHAT TO BRING
- Sleeping bag (may rent for $2.50 per day)
- Inflatable mattress (may rent for $2.50 per day)
- Torch/ flashlight
- Clothing: lightweight long trousers (for evening), shorts (obligatory in order to wear over wet-suit), fleece/thermal top, T-shirts, bathing suit, sandals
- Personal items: eco-friendly toiletries ie. bio-degradable (no place to wash except in the river, no pollutants please!!)
- Sun-block
- Insect repellent
